THE MAKING OF I.MK

THE MAKING OF I.MK

I.MK (short for Isaac McKeever) is a fashion house built on the act of reinvention—of clothes, of art, of self. It lives in the tension between bold and refined, clean and complex, nostalgic and new. The brand’s creative DNA is rooted in taking familiar silhouettes and reshaping them into garments that feel like statements: personal, expressive, and impossible to ignore.

What began as a creative escape in the west side of Chicago has grown into a fully realized brand. I.MK was born in Isaac’s junior year of high school, circa 2014—long before the first sale, the first logo, or the first hand-painted jean. It started as a mindset. A way to make things feel intentional. A way to create belonging when it wasn’t offered. Back then, Isaac wasn’t thinking about fashion weeks or lookbooks—he was just trying to create clothes that made him feel like himself. Clothes that fit. Clothes that spoke.

Over the years, that instinct sharpened. Through art school, adulthood, and a relentless push to define his own vision, the project matured. What was once raw ambition became a studied language. What started in a sketchbook became wearable art. Now, more than a decade after its quiet beginnings, I.MK is ready to step forward—with its first official collection and its clearest voice yet.

The debut capsule, The Narcissus (Nari) Collection, reimagines vintage Levi’s 501 jeans as collectible objects of reflection. Each pair features I.MK’s mirrored Double EE logo—a quiet yet powerful symbol of duality, self-recognition, and the journey toward visibility.

For Isaac, the Double E’s are personal. They represent a conversation between who he was and who he’s become. “There was a time I couldn’t even look in the mirror,” he says. “I didn’t think I was worth being seen—not in photos, not in rooms, not even by myself.” But something shifted. Slowly, through art, through style, and through sheer will, he taught himself to show up. To exist fully. To be seen.

The mirrored E’s aren’t about ego. They’re about arrival. They represent a moment of facing yourself and deciding you belong—not because anyone told you, but because you chose to believe it. That’s what I.MK is built on. Not fashion for the sake of fashion—but for the sake of becoming. And if you see yourself in that journey, the brand already belongs to you.

I.MK isn’t interested in being loud just because. It doesn’t chase attention. It attracts it—naturally, confidently, and with purpose. Every piece is meant to feel like it found you at the right moment, because you were finally ready to be seen. Whether you dress for function, for art, or for the feeling of standing out, I.MK is for you.
